In the Winter of 2002, a single, steel WTC Column would be designated
by recovery workers to be the last beam to be removed from Ground Zero.
As the months rolled by, FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and other recovery workers
scrawled their logos, fallen friend’s names and photographs to the beam.
In April of 2002, Ground Zero Photographer Gary Suson captured the beam
in all it’s glory at 2:00A.M. as the flag blew atop this now famous iconic
artifact. In late May, 2002, “The Last WTC Beam” was removed from Ground
Zero in a special ceremony. Now, after 14 years, it is brought to you in the
form of a special collector’s T-Shirt.
