On Sunday, September 16, 2001, Ground Zero ironworker Frank Silecchia was walking through the WTC ruins and stumbled upon an incredible find: Two giant steel i-Beams that had broken off from the 67th floor of the World Trade Center in the shape of a cross and landed upright in the rubble. The “WTC Cross” - now on display at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum - is shown here in its original form before time & rust covered the names of the firefighters scrawled into the steel by their friends.
